    Turbo Trainer

I know I've asked a couple of individuals about this but thought I'd put this on here. I'm after a trainer (ASAP) but I've never used one or even seen one in action. I have no idea how to set them up so I'm a real beginner on them. The only thing I do know is it needs to connect to computer (probably Zwift - purely because that's the only one I've heard off lol) Finally it needs to be cheap (I'm only a poor Trucker driver lol) Any suggestions

Hi ya Ray I'm not an expert it them but I have a Trax vortex only used it a few times with Zwift but it works seems to work well (I'm new to Zwift as well) not the most expensive on the market. Like I say I've only just started to used it but it was easy to set up and along with Zwift etc. So far so good.

    Hi Ray,

i haven’t got a turbo myself as I prefer to get out but after last years snow I’m looking at it.

i‘d got it down to a Tacx one which can connect to Zwift but I’m no expert I’m afraid either.

wahoo kicker seems very popular but I haven’t looked closely at that as yet.

    Nick.

I think I'm looking more towards the ones where the rear wheel is removed. Must admit it's a bit of a mind field to be honest lol

To be honest I would go that way if I had my time again it was the cost that put me off and at the time I didn't know how good they were.

I have a wahoo kickr snap and it’s amazing, use it with Zwift and it automatically dials in the resistance 👍🏻

      Tacx/Zwift/Garmin Problem

I’ve searched the web for the answer and can’t find it anywhere! How do you link your heart rate on your Garmin Watch to Zwift to get an accurate reading? Indoor Bike on Garmin doesn’t seem to work for distance or speed? Any ideas?

      Grand Prix Series 2020.

This is an age group based competition run in house for our members only. So you compete against fellow club members in your category ie Male age 35-39... The idea is an incentive to train towards your goals and enjoy a great competitive spirit amongst club members. The races on the calendar will suit all abilities from GoTri to Ironman so generally everyone competes against athletes at their level. The calendar will also include some popular local running races ie Stafford Half marathon... To qualify your must enter your races under your own name and enter Chasewater Triathlon Club as your club name. How does it work ? Say we have 25 races on the calendar, you have to compete in a minimum number of races, say 5 (yet to be decided), you compete in your age and gender category ie Female 35 -39, whoever is the first club member home in that category is awarded, lets say 20 points, the 2nd member home 19 points etc working down...so the club member in each category at the end of the year with the most points wins the award 🥇 Yes, there will be prizes and recognition (and bragging rights) 😀 Prizes will also be awarded for other reasons over the year such as Best Newcomer and the Most appearances at races ( ie the trophy hunter ! ) The onus is on you personally to notify the committee of your results as soon as possible to be in the running for a trophy. Races included / considered to date; Our own GoTri events Our own Chasewater Sprint & Olympic races Stratford Tri Ludlow Tri Upton Tri BRAT events at Cliff lakes & Sutton Park Wombourne Tri Blenheim Palace Outlaw Half, full, Holkham and X. Ironman Staffs, Wales & Bolton UK. UK Triathlon Whitchurch. What we need now is a list from every member of the races you are doing next year, including those running races, so please use the Forum page set up next to this one to add your races. Thank you and Good luck ! 🏊🚴🏼‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️🥇🏆 Nick Benton.
